Never Say Never!

So you know how I always say the one place I have no desire to go.....ever.....guess where we went....

Yep, Disney!  Becky and Scott invited us down to Orlando to stay with them for a few days.  We didn't go into the Magic Kingdom for the rides and stuff but we got to stay at the Wyndham Resort.  It was absolutely beautiful! I had no idea how huge Disney is...wow.  I can see why they come down here.  It really is impressive.  This was the view off our balcony.

Everything you see in these pictures is just the Wyndham Resort, which is just one of many resorts.

So since it was Scott's birthday vacation they rented a red convertible mustang for the week.  It was a totally different experience exploring the area with the top down.  This was the first trip...wind in our hair.

I could hardly get a brush through my hair so this is what we did for the rest of the trips.

The one day we took a road trip and went to see the manatees.  They weren't being real cooperative and barely coming out of the water but they were there.

Not the greatest pic but the video is too long and it won't let me upload it to the blog so I will try and figure that out later or post to FB.  But it was still a great experience to see them.

After the manatees we headed to Daytona Beach.  It was dad's first time seeing the ocean and I have only seen the gulf one time years ago for about two minutes so it was pretty much a new experience for us both.  It was raining when we got there and the beach was pretty much empty but it was awesome.  The pics will never do it justice.  The colors in the sky were a pretty blue gray and the water was clear and a pretty green.

After the rain we were blessed with a rainbow.

When you stand in front of the ocean like that it really makes you feel small and insignificant.  The world is truly beautiful.

The next day we went to one of their favorite restaurants in Orlando called Maggiano's.

It's an Italian restaurant that was to die for.  I had mom's lasagna and I was so excited that I forgot to take a before pic but here is the after.

Yup, I ate every last bite.  What made this the best lasagna I have ever had was the sauce.  I have never had a homemade sauce like that and of course jarred sauce doesn't even come close.

After supper we went to a haunted house.  They don't allow you to take pictures or videos in the house but here is a selfie of us in front of the Mortem Manor sign.

It was a blast.  Of course you know that it's fake and all but it still scares you when they jump out at you.  I might have peed a little. 😀

After the haunted house we walked around the boardwalk and shopped a little.  Remember how I said we are doing this trip to kind of reinvent ourselves and step out of the comfort zone.  Well dad bought himself a Hawaiian shirt at one of the stores.  It's nothing over the top but definitely different for dad.  When he wears it I will post pictures of it.

Then dad and I went for a ride on here.

Just kidding!!!! This is what they would have called me if I had went on that ride.

We ended the evening with a game of mini golf.  Yes dad played too although we were teasing him because it was pretty much like Happy Gilmore.  I had a great time laughing at him trying to tap, tap, tap it in.

We had so much fun.  Becky and Scott, we cannot thank you enough for the wonderful time.  We are truly blessed to have friends like you!

To everyone back home we love and miss you all!
