Catch you up to date.

So dad and I spent 3 days at High Falls State Park in Georgia.  It was cloudy, foggy, and rainy the whole time we were there so we didn't really do much of anything but it was nice to just veg for awhile.  We did manage to hike twice in those three days.  The falls are the highest waterfall south of Atlanta.  It actually reminded me of Gooseberry Falls only a lot warmer.  It was about 76 degrees the one day but the humidity was horrible. We had the air conditioner going during the day and then that night it dropped down to around 36 degrees so we had the furnace on that night.  Temperature fluctuations just like at home.  It really was a lot prettier than the pictures show.

We left there on Friday morning and traveled down to Lake City, Florida.  We found a campground that had an opening for a month so we snapped it up and are making this our home base while we explore Florida and Georgia.  It's really hard to get in the nooks and crannies to see all the good stuff when you are pulling a big 5th wheel so this will make it easier to site see and then when we get tired we can come back and chill for a couple days.

The campground is called Lake City RV Resort.  We came at the right time because the first Saturday of the month they have a big breakfast for everyone here so we got to meet people from all over.  It's kind of out of our comfort zone to just sit down with a bunch of strangers and start talking but that part of the experience and how you get the good tips on where to go, besides everyone here is super nice.

This is one of the signs by one of the ponds at the campground.

Luckily our neighbor told us that they took out the 3 alligators that were in the pond, apparently they were only about 3 feet long, but still I wouldn't want to mess with them.

Yesterday we took a long hike around Alligator Lake.  It was beautiful and the sun finally made an appearance toward the end of the day.

It's hard to see in the last picture because I didn't have my zoom lens with but as we were walking dad was like what the heck are those big things over there and they were ostriches and emus just walking around eating whatever.

So that catches you up to today. The sun is shining but just like at home it's Sunday and I don't feel like doing much so we might go for a little walk this morning but then I am going to chill, watch the Vikings and bake some chocolate chip cookies.  Tomorrow we travel down to Orlando to meet with Becky and Scott and spend a few days exploring there.  Becky said "it's weird that getting together in Minnesota didn't work out but Florida does". 😄

Love and miss you all!
