Some exploring and leaving the comfort zone

On Monday we went out and explored Hill Country State Natural Area.  It was kind of rainy and drizzly out but the rest of this week was going to be in the 80's and I don't like hot weather.  Good ol' Accu Weather said it would clear up by 11 a.m....they lied.  There are several more Natural Areas and State Parks that we want to explore but with it being spring break they are full and around here they close the parks when the parking lots reach capacity.  So we are thinking it will be better to wait until after next week.

We had some rain last week and things have started blooming.  These were all over.  I am not sure what they are maybe crape myrtle.  They look like lilacs but they smell like beer to me.

I always say the pictures don't do it justice and in this case it's really true.  It's hard to get beautiful pictures when its rainy and foggy.

The top of that peak is where we were headed.  It got foggier as we climbed.

Why does he always have to have a Mountain Dew???  If we climbed Mount Everest, "forget the oxygen tanks, bring my Mountain Dew." 😁

So here is the marvelous view from the top!!!  We sat for awhile in hopes that it would get better but it really didn't.  So I am afraid you are left with foggy gray pictures and you will have to take me word that it was really pretty up there.

I still have to do a post about the town of Bandera but we haven't explored everything yet.  I really like it here.

I know dad already talked to Sabin but...hold on to your hats...we're taking dancing lessons.  Yes, your dad is taking lessons with me.  We're not going to go on Dancing with the Stars but we are learning the waltz and two step.  This whole experience is about exploring and getting out of our comfort zone and he is definitely out of his comfort zone. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that he is trying for me. 😍

Love and miss you all.  Darien and Jon, I will see you in a couple days. Can't wait to explore Texas with you.
